Reverse sear with filets?

Ok, I have never heard of a reverse sear until I got an egg. After doing some research, I see a lot of reverse searing done with whole ribs or tenderloins. My question is, can it be done with filet? Im real good searing steaks and purring them in the oven after...just never done it backwards. How many of you reverse sear with smaller cuts?
