So..... Where does it go?

I, like many here, have to order whole packer briskets online because they are not available to me.  Only flats are available near me, so..... where are all the points going?  Where do the end up?  Burger?

Whenever I have asked, the standard answer is as you noted, ground up and sacrificed to the burger gods.  In the run-up to St. Patrick's Day some will end up as a corned beef option.
And for the grocery chains around here all they carry are flats (choice grade) at about $6.50/lb. Fortunately the local Costco has evolved to a near year round source of packers (and prime grade at that).

@NPHuskerFL Brother Blake, being born and raised here in Texas, I can truly say I have never seen a brisket point for sale as a stand alone piece of protein. I have often wondered this myself!
My guess would be the Butcher is smart and keeps it for himself!!

Likewise. I live in the heart of beef country and I've never seen a point by itself.

This really makes me mad.  Why go to burger?  why not reduce the cost per pound for the brisket.

Everywhere I call, people say they don't get whole packers because no one wants to pay high brisket prices for a fatty piece of meat.

@stompbox No one wants to pay high brisket prices for a fatty piece of meat? That's crazy talk.  I hope this was hyperbole and not actual words coming out of a butcher's mouth.
