building a table for a friend (as a surprise) at the request of his wife, so I can't exactly ask him to measure.
also, what size paver do I need to sit a large and the feet on?

Looking at my feet, I would guess only 1/2 inch or so. Not much more. Not certain on the paver as mine sits on the wood itself.XL BGE, Lg BGE, MiniMax BGE, Mini BGE

My feet are about 1". They aren't BGE feet though, just the ceramic komado ones from fire craft

I agree with @fishlessman I would be very weary of just using the feet

this was mine years ago, table is 2 inches thick. if you look closely you can see the feet were roughly located at 12, 4, and 8 oclock. i found it teetering while a low and slow was taking place. i slid the whole thing to the left to finish the cook, you can see where it started to burn the table to the left

Contact his boss lady. Have her get or you get permission to get a table nest. He will have an adequate air gap present to keep the fire risk at bay.
