Charcoal was my side gig 10+ yrs ago......had 5 jobs back then and no kids. I was an EMS helicopter pilot full time (5-6 12hr nights a week), then a part time pilot for the local TV stations, a real estate agent, a CCW instructor, and I was buying charcoal in bulk & selling it out of the back of my truck on Craigslist. The charcoal and CCW classes were the feeder for generating real estate clients. As things got busier and liability increased, I left the TV job and stopped teaching CCW. Charcoal got surprisingly busier, real estate morphed into more of investment opportunities. Then several years ago Rockwood was born and I quit the EMS gig to go full time charcoal. I'll still buy/sell a dozen houses a year--some for me, some for others. I should let that go, but I enjoy the process. It's a great side gig, and one even better right now is appraisals. If I wasn't so busy, I would jump on that in a heartbeat--lots of money to be made, stay as busy as you want.

I run an aerial imagery company. Mostly for agriculture but i do offer services for real estate and small business advertising. I'm planning on transitioning that into a full time career by 2018.Pratt, KS
