Uncovered Turkey Overnight in Fridge?

Does it really help to take the turkey out of the wrapping and leave it uncovered in the fridge overnight?  I dry brine the turkey and have had great results in the past.  Thanks for your advice.

    Did mine for over 2 days last year and it was great.
    It looked real sickly, dry, and pale, but a little time on the Egg and it looked perfect. Not cooking a bird this year but will definitely do it again. And I dry brined mine first as well.

  • Has anyone done this when doing mad max?
    I'm doing it right now. Won't have results until 3:30 tomorrow.  

    With the butter and seasoning rub, I don't think it will make a difference.

    dry first, then apply the butter day-of

    Mine is in now dry with a dry brine on. No problem and carry on.

    Mine's naked and dry in the frig right now.  
    The light banging on the inside of the frig door is starting to spook me.
    Especially since it's only a breast.

    My turkey is naked and drying in the fridge too.  Brined for 24 hrs and pulled it out about 5 tonight.  Spatched it, towel dried it and there it sits.  I would post a pic, but I am sitting in a parking lot.

    Both are now naked. Spatchcock tomorrow. The one that I am spatchcocking was still a little bit frozen in spots that would have made it very hard to do.

    C'mon, man!  For only $5,300 you can get a Samsung Intranetz-connected fridge that takes photos of its insides, and sends them to your phone, your grocer, and Mr. Putin.
