OT: Which truck to buy?

I am 6'3" and have a 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie. I have no issue with head room or anything in it and have a 6'9" friend who is ok in it also. I also like that for about $3000 more, you can get a lifetime bumper to bumper warranty on it!

To me, it depends on what kind of lump you're going to haul in it.

Royal Oak-Dodge or Toyota

I have plenty of room in my 2005 Ram, but the 2017 seats sit higher. Leg room is fine but the head room is not the same.Central Valley CA One large egg One chocolate lab "Halle" two chiuahuas "Skittles and PeeWee"

MaC122 said:I'll chime in here as it seems there has not been any Toyota owners yet. I have a 2016 Tundra limited crew max. If you get a tundra defiantly get the crew max. I have had the sr5 and the crew max is much more roomy. I also suggest getting the 2016 because it comes with the larger fuel tank. You can get a limited tundra crew-max, which comes with leather/nav/20 rims ect for about 10k cheaper than a comparable American made truck with the same fix'ns. The one thing that absolutely sucks about the tundras is the sound system. DO NOT spend the money for the JBL upgrade. It is not worth it. I just replaced my sound system with after market JL Audio speakers and the system sounds amazing. I love my truck and this is my second tundra in a row. Good luck!

Just bought my 2017 Tundra Limited CrewMax last Friday. It came down to that or a 2016 F-150 Lariat. The Ford definitely offered more incentives, and had more bells and whistles. The one that stands out was cooled seats. It seems primadonna, but my buddies swear by it. It also had a trailer backing assistance feature that seemed like magic to me. Ford prices their trucks high (at least around here) but have a pretty big margin to work with. So, you'll end up paying about the same as equivalent trucks, regardless of brand.
I ended up up opting for the Tundra. I've had two Tacoma's over the last ten years and never had a single issue. Toyota dependability and resale value were the biggest factors for me. The CrewMax is ridiculously roomy. I'm 6'1" and in the back seat I still have about a foot of leg space. I got the TRD Off Road package, with Bilstein shocks, upgraded wheels and it just so happened to come with the JBL sound system. I saw the comment earlier about it being a waste of money. I don't have any complaints, but it did pique my interest. The only drawback I have is lack of under seat storage. The double cab has underseat compartments. For whatever reason, the CrewMax does not. The center console, however is huge. I'd rather have more than one option though.
It has about a 10K towing capacity, which far exceeds my needs. It fits in my garage (barely) at about 19.3 feet long. I love it. Good luck with your search!
My kid named her Big Red. My old Tacoma was Silver Batman. Of course, he was five years old when I got the truck.

Well I had a chevy Silverado picked out, but SWMBO did not like the color, and she convince me to go look at dodge again (she really likes the Dodges), so I guess another weekend of truck hunting! I'm still leaning toward the ChevyCentral Valley CA One large egg One chocolate lab "Halle" two chiuahuas "Skittles and PeeWee"

been sitting in my dodge since 89 im going with an H2 second hand (even though its a chevy) as my little dodge is going to blow up soon from towing. the chevy thing scares me though, seems the big things go on them, the fords nickel and dime you, the toyota frames rot out in the new england salted roads(they do replace the frames for free, even after the warranty is long gone). theres no way i would pony up the payments on a new truck. just bought a f55o for work, 12k on it, v10 engine, abought 30 k for it, i can not see why a pickup can go 70,000 friggin dollars no matter what they put in itfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

@Jabam.....I can't weigh in on this discussion. We just purchased a Subaru Outback (which we love)....but here to sympathize with you as car buying in general ranks up there with moving in my book. SUCKS!
Good luck with your purchase.Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax

Found this on Autotrader about what trucks are best for a family. You probably can't go wrong with any of them it comes down to the deal you can get and which one you like.
