Are there any posts or threads that give tips and advice on cold smoking? I want to add another element to my BGE.

Several, usually using the exhaust from another egg.Steve

I've only cold smoked jalepenos in my LBGE so far. Used an A-Maz-N pellet smoker at the bottom of the Egg. I went with wide open vents for the entire smoke and used the platesetter. Worked well for me, now that it's cooler it's time for cheese, butter and bacon!Northern VA - LBGE

Keen to know what size to prepare foods down to and how long to smoke them? I know meats are best left alone. Also what trays should I use.

I too use an Amaze-N pellet tray for cold smoking. It works great with the Egg. I don't use the plate setter, though. It's just about time to smoke up a big batch of cheese and nuts!SirSquatch said:I've only cold smoked jalepenos in my LBGE so far. Used an A-Maz-N pellet smoker at the bottom of the Egg. I use Oscarware disposable trays. You can clean and reuse them.rob75in said:Keen to know what size to prepare foods down to and how long to smoke them? I know meats are best left alone. Also what trays should I use.

You will need a mesh tray or other tray with lots of holes in it to let the smoke circulate.Living the good life smoking and joking -
I recently wrote a brief introduction to cold smoking using the BGE on my food blog:

Hope it's useful.

You can still do it if you only have one egg. Use it as the fire box and duct it to anything else for the smoke chamber: cardboard box, metal locker, old oven, etc etcYEMTrey said:Several, usually using the exhaust from another egg. -
