Maybe I'm odd man out here but I prefer old cast iron. Maybe it's the history that comes with it.  Certainly Le Creuset & Staub are quality items.

@NPHuskerFL   I'm with you, but lately for things like pies, or mac and cheese, I've been using the enameled stuff.   The trade off is having to be so careful with it.

Le Creuset is old cast iron. Since 1925, homie

@NPHuskerFL i also love old cast iron but was unable to find any used dutch ovens of good size (like the 8Qt LC we bought.)  Have had great luck with used CI frying pans (have at least six of various sizes.) acquired from various yard sales.
Richmond and Mathews County, VA. Large BGE, Weber gas, little Weber charcoal. Vintage ManGrates. Little reddish portable kamado that shall remain nameless here.  Very Extremely Stable Genius.

Was looking at the Staub, but turns out there is a Le Creuset factory outlet here in Nashville. Picked up a 9 quart round DO at 50% off retail. "Flame" colored as my wife is a UT grad. IMO -- Factory outlet is the way to go for anyone in the market. Wanted a stock pot as well, but SWMBO said no.. (for now..)

Great score!  I would be in trouble, if there were a factory outlet within range.

Have fun with your new piece.

We have one here in St. Augustine about 20 miles from me. May have to take a drive down once I get over the shock of buying the Egg.

IN the meantime I'll just use my Lodge CI DO.

Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.
