A few days on Cipro and the hand is 1000% better. Still a little tender but definitely clearing up.   After spending the last 3 years in a lawsuit the last freaking thing I want to deal with right now is more lawyers. I will, at a minimum, report it though.

I think I never shook the listeria at first because I was still eating the darn ice cream on my first round of anti-biotics. We didn't know till my last day of the first round (which was 2 different types of anti-biotics_

Tough road for sure.  At least you are on the upswing.  Sounds like you need to fire up the SF just for some therapy.
I realize you have had your fill of lawyers, but you need to pursue this just to make sure BB is held accountable if nothing else.

Dang man, that's awful.  I'm glad to hear you're feeling better and I hope they give you a life time supply of some other type of icecream when you report it.
  • That SUCKS!  I'll bet that the hand and other joints was related to the listeria.  Once it gets into your system, it will hand out in some places that are harder for the antibiotics to reach - joints.  That's one of the reasons we will regularly go into a joint that we think is infected, remove hardware, flush with GALLONS and GALLONS of antibiotic laced saline, put in new parts, and have people on IV antibiotics for weeks....

Please take those meds like its a religion!  Its the best thing!

Sorry you've been sick... But if you're having pain in your joints I would definitely request a tick titer panel

listeria shouldn't cause joint pain... Could be coincidence

Dang Scott, I'm sorry to hear this.  Glad you're feeling a little better.  Was it only you?  Hopefully your family wasn't harmed.

I saw the post and thought it was old. I didn't know Blue Bell had another outbreak.  That's crazy!  I would think this second bout would be the death of them.  Terrible.

Get better man!  I'll say a prayer for you.

It wasn't joint pain per say. But a bacterial infection that found it's way into my joint. My Dr. said basically the exact thing that @DaveRichardson just said above. That the infection gets it's way into hard to reach areas sometimes and it will take time to get reestablished and flare back up. Part of what makes listeria such a pain.
