Here's a video that we made that shows you how to make both traditional scotch eggs and BBQ twice cooked. I didn't do these on my BGE but the concept is the same. They are an awesome treat if you've never had them.

eat them every week at the local butcher shop. they have been baking them at 550 for as long as i can remember, they hit them with an oil spray to get a slight fry quality out of them. love scotch eggs

Has anyone done these wrapped in bacon and slow smoked then seared for a finish? That's what I have been thinking of doing. Trying to stay away from anything fried right now.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

More protein right, but will probably skip it as well.Legume said:Because wrapped in bacon is healthier?
I also I don't have a safe way to fry things.

@Ladeback69 - haven't done the scotch egg route but I do armadillo eggs all the time. Hollowed out jalapeno, stuff it with habanero cheese then enclose with sausage. On the BGE indirect at around 350*F til about 160*F. Great morning jump start. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.
