Good Weekend For a Picnic
Had my first low and slow overnighter this weekend - It definitely won't be the last. Smoked an 8lb picnic - 13 hours at 240-250. Everything turned out great! It was also the first time using my Maverick ET732 - great too!
Thanks to the help of this site - it was a good weekend.
...I filled the BGE almost to the top of the fire ring with BGE lump making sure I had enough for the long smoke. I could have done three more 13 hour cooks... I had a ton left over - way more than half. Did I do something wrong here? Some lump on the edges appear to have not even burned. I had a KAB buried in there too...wonder if that had anything to do with it. Anyways - not stressing about it.

excess lump is normal, no problem there, better to have too much, just stir and light for next cook.
