After having seen discussions on here referencing the place I decided it's time to go. Heading there tomorrow. Anything there a must see? Is it like a Sams, Costco, Home Depot?

You have to have a business license to get a membership or be aKCBS member. Can't just join like Costco or Sams.

Bring a sweatshirt or jacket in. The walk in coolers can get chilly after a while. Get ready to be in awe..."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Gotcha. Have three. I did see that mentioned before. Was surprised it didn't have to be a food service related business though.Lit said:You have to have a business license to get a membership or be aKCBS member. Can't just join like Costco or Sams.Bill Denver, CO

Have only been to Marietta one and the Holcomb bridge and 85 one. I think the Holcomb bridge one is a little bigger and I have never seen that store out of the angus briskets. The Marietta one was out of them twice when I went in. I think my pic is from the Marietta store.GoooDawgs said:Hey Lit - what's your favorite RD in Ga? Good to know. I've only been once so far and that was to buy brisket. I didn't notice they had different categories of brisket. Mine said Choice - but I can't remember if it said angus. I heard they don't have prime, but whats the difference in the Choice grades they have?Lit said:

@GOooDawgs they have 3 different briskets at the Holcomb bridge store. There is a halal meat section at the end where they have choice briskets I got one once and it was just trimmed better then they have regular choice and the angus choice. The angus choice is the best in my opinion and only like .20 a pound more than the regular choice. The Marietta one does carry the Angus briskets most of the time you will see the certified angus cow on the angus ones.

A question to those of you that frequent both Costco and Restaurant Depot. Do you see much difference in the pricing between the two as relating to meat and seafood? I'm a Costco member and wondering whether I should give RD a look. Hope this ties in to the OP's post.

What's in each Costco can vary widely from region to region. My Costco NEVER has full briskets of any grade. My RD does. RD prices in my area are better than my Costco but I really prefer the baby backs I get at Costco.FarmerTom said:A question to those of you that frequent both Costco and Restaurant Depot. Be sure to check out the fish market. Only problem with going on a Sunday for seafood is that they've sold out a lot of stuff. Fresh starts arriving Tues I think.Richmond and Mathews County, VA. Large BGE, Weber gas, little Weber charcoal. Vintage ManGrates. Little reddish portable kamado that shall remain nameless here. Very Extremely Stable Genius.
