I loved my 22-inch Weber grill; it was around $200 and lasted for 16 years before a big hole rusted through the base at one of the legs. That represents incredible value, and I liked that grill so much it gave me unrealistic expectations for the Summit. I figured if Weber could produce the Summit for $600 I would buy it for sure! Unfortunately, at $1500 - $2000 here in Canada I don't see the value, mostly because of the warranty. At that price I am looking for a lifetime warranty from my BBQ.

Saw the summit in person finally. Very underwhelming, does not feel like a $1500 grill.
I will waTch clips on it but would never buy it.
This is just my opinion.Seattle, WA -
The Summit is as good or better value than any of the name brand Kamado grills. It is as good or better a cooker than the Kamados. The pricing is really less than most kamados because it comes with a table or nest and heat deflector, ash tools built in, and starting apparatus. It's not perfect, but using it is believing. One of my closest friends bought one and prefers it to his Primo Oval, just like BB Maniac does to his grills. BTW, BB Maniac has some really nice and really expensive units. Just saying. Gotta get over the materials issue. Its bias. Its not a "kettle"!

What is a $1500 grill supposed to feel like?
The price of a grill does nothing for me, when determining overall performance.
Most times, I prefer the freedom and various setup options of a standard $150 retail kettle vs the all-or-none setup constraints of the much more expensive egg. Same goes for my 94 Chevy vs a brand new plastic one.BrandonQuad Cities

The thing is I already have a XLBGE and the only next thing I would like is a larger stand alone smoker like the Good One Marshall or Stumps XL Baby. Those are a lot more, but also can smoke more meat. If I was looking for a new grill like the BGE or the Summit I would take a closer look at the Summit to compare the two, but for now I don't need it. I would rather have a medium or large to go along with my XL first.

My dad has a summit charcoal grilling center I've gotten to cook on it twice, agree with the point in the video that the egg keeps a more stable temperature. Agree with the above re: I already have and XL I'm not really in the market for this grill, but I did think it was fair and unbiased opinion as well as informational, even gave a nod to this and the egger forums.
what really struck me was that he said he liked his summit more than his Komodo Kamado. He said you're paying for the features, convenience, and the Weber name.“There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.”
