I stopped buying Rib eye steaks at Costco quite awhile back. They fluctuate in price from $18-22 per pound for their Prime grade. They also eliminated the Prime grade in individual Rib eyes around here and went with the "Cap" and "Eye". Whole Rib eye steaks were Choice grade.

However, they sell Whole Prime Grade Rib eyes (Primals?) in the Cryovac at around $11 per pound. Every so often, I bite the bullet and plunk down big money and buy one, take it home, cut them to my preferred thickness (1.5-1.75 inches), and go to town with my FoodSaver. Sometimes I take a "Whole" Prime Rib off of it as well.

The only thing that I buy from costco is the whole prime Ribeye. I find the biggest one that they have , and cut my own cap steak off of it. Then its two inch steaks from end to end. food saved and frozen :-) Last month it was $9.99 lb here in Jax FL.
    More meat please !! :-)

Their prime is high right now. Most of the time it's  $9.99.
