Score of the Month!!

I had a bunch of friends recently go in on splitting a couple cows from a local slaughter house. Everyone was fired up about steaks, briskets, roast, and ground beef but nobody wanted or knew what to do with the ribs.

So I got a call from one of them saying, "you think those two big ol labs of yours would want all these beef rib bones?"

I just smiled and said bring em on over and I'll find a use for them.

I've got 4 on for dinner tonight and probably enough beef ribs to last until spring.

Better to be lucky than good any day.  Great score.  Beef ribs-beat their pork cousins every time.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

I personally like pork better (mostly across the board, we don't eat much beef except burgers or when entertaining large groups)

But nobody says no to free beef ribs. At least nobody on this forum

Those pups can kiss my backside, they may heya scrap or two!

The butcher sells raw beef bones for $1 a lb.  $20 will entertain the two of them for at least 2 months.

I guess he wasn't a very good friend. Eh? =)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

  • @Carolina Q they have asked us for the past two years but 1) the cows were fairly small and 2) we don't eat that much red meat.

I would rather pick up a couple cuts of prime fresh cuts of meat then race to the bottom of the freezer eating on 6 oz ribeyes and a pile of sirloins. Besides, this set up seems to be working in my favor.  =)

I offered to split a chicken with them, but I didn't have any takers!
