Has anyone heard of this or used it. I normally use BGE brand since I get it at cost but I wanted to try this. Picked it up at my local Ace. Supposedly it's all center cut. I've got it lit now seems to be burning very well no pops or sparks. Very uniform size pieces.

I lit this 15 minutes ago. There is zero smoke!
Doesn't stink either. I can't find a weight on the container, only a volume. The box says it's fully carbonized...I believe it so far. Not a puff of whit smoke. Also I'm guessing it is a 10-15 lb container $16 and some change. Pratt, KS -
40 minutes in and 280F still no smoke of any kind. Clean burning.Pratt, KS

Seems to be pretty decent. On a side note I decided to try two of the meatloaf recipes off of here. Here's some prep pics.Pratt, KS

I can't believe I am saying this but the loaf without bacon was the best

Interesting that it was better without bacon! Here's a recent thread on centre cut lump:

I picked up a box but haven't tried it yet, good to hear you have good experience with it like @brentm .canuckland -
got a box on clearance. extremely small pieces of charcoal but it seems to burn well. probably would buy it again but despite the advertisement on the box, I would not say that it is equivalent to a 20lb bag of traditional hardwoodLBGE circa 2016

All in all I was impressed, will I buy it again? perhaps. I'll have to see how it lasts. basically one fill to the top of the fire box used up half the box. I did like how quick it started up. I didn't have to wait for "good smoke" it seemed to skip that part. On that thought, maybe this stuff would be useful for multiple quick cooks. The BGE brand I normally get produces white smoke for a good 20 minutes typically.Pratt, KS

probably great for Japanese style table top grilling.canuckland

Glad to hear you had good results. I have seen it at my local ACE but have yet to try it. Bought a bag of Frontier from ACE last time and it was fantastic. Still had the smoke like the BGE brand but a lot of large pieces and very few small. I would worry that I would go through the box too quick but I'll give it a shot!EggMcMcc
