Crazy good golf from both sides. Patrick Reed was amazing, Ryan Moore's comeback to clinch was epic, the Phil-Sergio match was incredible - but most of all I sure hope our leaders figured out how to help our guys continue to bond as a team and keep supporting one another like they did. After Phil's comments last time and earlier this year I was really concerned the team would not come together. I think Bubba's coming in to support like he did was one of the keys. What a great team - USA! USA! USA!LBGE, platesetter, Stoker wifi, StokerX Mac software, Pit Pal for iOS, @HerringBigEgg on Twitter, joined forum in 2008Austin, TX

Nothing to do with the game...I set up the communications for the law enforcement and public safety folks working there but I didn't see anything like that when I there! But that was a week before it opened.
Aside from a few people being ejected and the genius landing a float plane on Lake Hazeltine it sounds like things went quite smoothly. The people working there were most excited to meet Bill Murray.

Yes it's a USA against the world and it brings you together.
Golf is more than that. It's a gentlemans game. A game of respect and honor.
As it was noted a few posts below your the incessant cheering of a bad shot by the europeans is pathetic. The gregarious USA chants when something positive happens is appalling and loud and distracting for the groups around.
I was watching on Friday but turned it off and haven't watched since as I was embarrassed for the game, and I won't watch it again.
For those that really know the game and were brought up in the proper etiquette of golf will get my comments, they still may not agree but they will get it.
I know I'll get flamed for this, And have no dog in this fight. -

The few idiots that yelled during the swing of the European team should have been drug off the course. No excuse for it and it in NO way helped the game.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
There is a difference to cheering or booing "After a Shot"....there should not be involvement during the shot that effects the players ability to perform. Golf is such a different animal and those noises really do make a difference for most when playing. Those people if known, should have been removed. I also bet they heard it from fellow patrons afterwards, as the majority do respect the game.Just bought an Egg? Here is what you get to look forward to now:

Sure. That wasnt cool. But this guy was talking about the event as a whole was pathetic and embarrassing because of all the cheering that was going on, which is ridiculous.

I disagree. He should be able to tune them out and not let them effect their game, yes, but the ability to tune out the random heckler DURING a swing is not really possible IMHO. It is the unknown noise that effects the outcome. If it is constant noise like at a baseball game or something, that is totally different and many are able to tune that out, as the TPC in Arizona proves.Just bought an Egg? It wasn't about the cheering it was about the way it was being done. USA USA x10 after a birdie putt was made. cheering from an errant shot from the Europeans.
This doesn't happen on the weekly tournaments. Yes its the USA against the world mentality, and you guys are very proud of it, I get it. Golf has a certain decorum that to me in my opinion was lacking by the crowds. Just hearing that there were guys shouting during a swing, to me says it all. Obviously those ones stepped over the line but it proves a point.

The crowds are the same way when the event is not held here. the media is blowing everything out of proportion. Let's see if there is a thread coming up for the tournament this weekend....I bet not, which to me says it all...that the additional juice the crowd provides is what people actually like to see and hear, thus ratings. Golf could use so much more of this on a weekly basis, as the only people that watch golf, are the ones that are addicted to the game and we can appreciate the shots being made. to the average Joe, Golf on TV is like watching paint dry.Just bought an Egg? Well done USA you deserved the win. Your guys putted their socks off. The crowd were mostly just patriotic and just a few were out of line. Even as a Brit I am almost glad you won in Arnies memory. Now I need to focus on where to buy decent brisket over here.

The Europeans had as much to do with the crowd behavior as anything else. The crowd was primed by Willetes brothers article that hit on Wednesday. The crowd just took off from there. Then you had that little baby Rory complaining about the crowd but goading on the crowd. Can't have it both ways kid. Don't complain if you are going to initiate. I used to be indifferent on Rory until this weekend. Now I'll root for him to lose every week.
-
I loved the way he egged the crowd on, and him and Reed egged each other on as well. They would both feed the crowd, then look at each other and smile and wink. they were both having a blast yesterday and you could tell.
Pro Golfer's would probably love for the crowd to be that way more often.
