Rutland installation for new XL Base

I installed a Rutland gasket on my recently replaced XL base (thanks RRP). The seam on my prior Rutland installations (2) were always kind of rough, with some loose fibers etc. This time I impregnated the gasket with Permatex for about one inch on either side of the seam. I trimmed some of the excess sealant after this picture was taken and it looks pretty good (we'll have to see if it holds up).

I just ordered my Rutland gasket from @RRP.  How easy did you find the installation to be?

I've done three.  Putting the new gasket on is a snap.  Taking the old one off and prepping can range from simple to PIA.
