Cooking on both racks PSWOO2

tonight I'm cooking up 4#s of meatballs in my egg. I always do them raised indirect at the felt. However tonight I'm cooking so much I've got to toss the D grate extender in too. Should they come out fine just loading both grates up? Or would I have to rotate the meatballs on the extender down to the felt level and vice versa throughout the cook?

Should be fine. I use my grate all the time, and never notice a big enough temperature difference to change top/bottom level.

As above-just watch for the potential for a quicker cook-rate on the top level due to closer to the dome and the reflected heat.  I tend to see the upper level (same rig) of ABT's finish quicker.  FWIW-

I did something similar this weekend.  I loaded my PSWoo2 down w/ meatballs (D grate extender too) but I left the plate setter in (and a drip pan) and smoked them at 225 for about a half hour. 

Then I fired up my medium to 400 degrees, moved them over in batches, and finished them raised direct.

I did it this way to reduce the amount of grease that was dripping on the coals.  They turned out pretty good.

You should be fine....big window in cooking meatballs.  Watch the ones on the outside edge - they can burn.
