Looonng Crack

I purchased my Large a long time ago, $500, with table and accessories.  It was a good deal but I always knew this day would come.  I've been cooking on a cracked firebox for more than a year also.

The previous setup was the BGE cypress table on casters and egg feet - and I believe that this is probably where the damage came from - but now for my outdoor kitchen project I moved my egg in to its new position and gave it a good inspection.  Unfortunately there is a crack through the middle of the base, comes up to the vent hole, jumps across, and skirts off at an angle about half way up the egg, maybe more.  I'm still using it but have to keep a watchful eye on it now.  My suspicion is that the egg base is also warped since the bands can't be adjusted to sit the dome right since last summer.

Sure wish I had that warranty now.  But if it does die, I'll go into it with an open mind and take a good look at some of the other kamados, compare warranties, and hinges. (JOE, PRIMO, ETC).  I've had nothing but problems with my BGE hinge and alignment since the day I got it, and so many people I talk to say the same.

My wife thinks it's pretty suspicious that it cracked now that we're installing it into the new outdoor island.  I swear honey, it cracked on its own!
