Just a quick question. With real feel temps over 100 degrees will that affect what the lbge does on a low and slow at 230 degrees? Just wanna make sure as to not ruin my 18 lbs of pork. Thanks a bunch!!!

I thought about this as well, it helps me get to temps quicker obviously but can get out of hand just as quick. Maybe the humidity, elevation, weather currently happening, etc might affect more if any.Austin, Tx

Looking at this too hard.
Light the fire. Get the pit to your desired temp (BTW 230° is too low in my book), and cook. Then eat.------------------------------

the temperature you are measuring inside the egg is what the temperature is regardless of what the temp is outside. If you nail it to 230 deg then that is what you are cooking at. If by chance your ambient temperature went over 230 deg then you will have issues and since that means your house is probably burning down your pork will be the least of your worries.Large BGEBBQ Guru DigiQ IIMartensville, Saskatchewan Canada

Don't be surprised if they finish at different times-depending on your commitment, you may want to rotate levels several hours into the cook but your call. Above all, have fun.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

I hear it's so hot in AZ that @Ozzie_Isaac only burns a bag of lump every couple months.

With outdoor ambient at 100℉ you'll simply burn less fuel (Lump Charcoal & wood) than if it were 10℉ because you're doing less work to achieve target temp. It's scienceLBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL
