A friend and mentor is moving back to Texas and wanted to leave his smoker for our Veterans group.
He has been an amazing inspiration for a lot of us as younger Iraq/Afghanistan guys. He was a Loach pilot in Vietnam and went through some pretty rough experiences but managed to prevail and still live a great life and be a great man.
So I would like to introduce to you...Skeeter (one of his call signs in Nam. The running joke with his crew was him yelling over the radio, "Skeeter's taking fire!!!" Seemed an appropriate name for a grill/smoker)
It it and the Large BGE have a lot to do in the next little bit.
4 shoulders, 8 racks of beef ribs, and 8 lbs of bacon.

Great cooker and tribute to your mentor. Gonna be a great day/night cooking.
What type wood in the smoker?Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -

That fire should burn out about the time round 2 of the beef ribs goes on and I'm leaning toward mesquite."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."
