First, I want to say I own a YETI. This is something I saw and I thought it might interest some here.

Sorry. I pretty much tune YETI threads out because I'm not a "must have the name brand" kind of guy. The video caught my attention because I have the exact same YETI. Please disregard if you're not interested.Flint, Michigan

I'm not either. Which is why I bought the Ozark Trail. No offence implied or taken. Lets cook something. It will be better "food for thought".Fred19Flintstone said:Sorry. I would be interested in testing by a different method. If it's about heat transfer, I don't like using "7 ice cubes each" because that's just begging the question about equality between the two vessels. Ice cubes of different mass can make a huge difference here.
I would have chilled a volume of water, say in the fridge, then stir it and poured an equal amount of water into each tumbler, then measure how long it took each of them to return the water to ambient on a hot summer afternoon.
Who uses a Yeti inside? The test is how long will it keep heat out when it's actually hot out.
If you want a quicker test, pour a measured amount of previously boiled water (from the same vessel) and stick both tumblers side by side in your freezer.

BBQ is a celebration of culture in America. It is the closest thing we have to the wines and cheeses of Europe.
Drive a few hundred miles in any direction, and the experience changes dramatically.

I I have a bunch of these (lucked into most of them. I only paid real money for one mid size Yeti). They are a mix of Buckhead, Yeti, and Ozark.
The only difference I can really see is the seal on the lid and how well they hold up in the dishwasher (I know, they don't go in the dishwasher. But when you have this many you use them like Solo cups and my wife said she refused to hand wash one more)
All in all, they keep drinks cooler than anything other type of cup on the market. Sometimes too cold. But after getting home from a 3rd world country I swore I would never go without ice again. And that's what they do. And for that, I'm thankful. The rest is income, status, brand loyalty, and preference.
