Chicken Thighs on the Mini-Max and GrillGrates

I am really having a 'Grate' time since I received my GrillGrates from Ceramic Grill Store. And I continue to be amazed at how simple and easy they are to use with completely predictable results.

This story actually begins at Sam's Club though. We usually buy one of their fabulous rotisserie chickens when we shop there. It's always fantastic and the leftovers save well for something later on.

One day Sweetie happened to ask the meat department manager what the seasoning was they used. She said McCormick's Rotisserie Chicken seasoning. We couldn't find the seasoning in the store and pretty much forgot about it for years. Then a few weeks ago we saw the lady again while we were buying yet another rotisserie chicken, so we asked her again what the seasoning was. She said the chickens now come pre-seasoned with the same seasoning, McCormick's Rotisserie Chicken seasoning, but the store does not sell the seasoning.

We looked locally and couldn't find it in our regular stores either.

On our return home from the the South Mississippi RiverFest not long ago, we stopped in Rouse's, a really cool store to shop in if you're ever in New Orleans. I think they also have other stores in the area. But we went looking specifically for McCormick's Rotisserie Chicken seasoning, and we found it.

Tonight was the fist time we tried it. We were not disappointed.

Here's the very short video I put together showing the Mini-Max, the chicken and the GrillGrates working in complete harmony to produce one really good dinner.

As for the chicken, we soaked it in buttermilk for a couple of hours before we seasoned and cooked it. I think the buttermilk was a good move. I'll do that again too.

Thanks for looking.
