20lb bags at Sam's for 12.00
This charcoal good stuff? Not a fan of heavy mesquite. Does it impart strong flavor?

I have used several times and I don't mind it at all. A buddy has a vision grill and that is pretty much all he uses

  • The only 100% mesquite I have used is El Diablo. I got it at Cost Co in a similar 20lb bag. Can't remember the cost but it was also reduced. Maybe just a little more sparky, but burned clean, and had a nice not too strong or noticeable flavor. I would give it a shot. I am going to buy some more of the El Diablo.

It must be pretty dense, seems small for a 20lb bag, but I did notice it wasn't crushed or abused looking, so hopefully it's not broken up. I don't know wether to buy one bag or five. Usually when it's gone at Sam's it's gone. I guess if I get into the first bag and don't like it they'll take the rest back.
