Ordered some along with red oak chips. Sorry to see that it has MSG added.

Why are you sorry about MSG? It's in a bunch of stuff naturally.
-
Yes it is, in very low amounts. It makes a lot of people feel off when consumed in larger amounts. It can wire me to the point I'm awake until 3-4am. Those with Celiac's disease are advised to avoid added MSG as it has been shown to trigger an episode. I don't want to argue with anyone about MSG, however when reading a description of the product on line it should be included that MSG was added to the product.

Actually it is mentioned on the Susie Q website, they make two versions of this rub. It's right under product description.
Product info:
Our Red Label offers a similar flavor profile as our original Santa Maria Style Seasoning, but with a more prevalent salt note and without MSG. A uniquely versatile blend of California garlic, premium salt and cracked black pepper with a whisper of parsley freshness. An essential seasoning for those whose passion is regional cooking, as well as a pantry staple that magically transforms all foods into savory dishes. Meats, fish, eggs, vegetables, pastas, soups, sauces, breads, popcorn, cottage cheese, sour cream, cream cheese, & butter are some of the foods that are enhanced by this seasoning. Use as a sprinkle or finishing salt, a dry rub for grilling or add a pinch to favorite recipes for incredible results. It is a well balanced blend that rounds out on the palate without being salty or strong flavored.

I was fortunate enough to receive some from SoCalTim in the exchange and absolutely love the stuff. I used it last weekend on some smoked chicken and it was by far the best pulled chicken I've ever had.Large and Small BGECentral, IL
