Absolutely go for it.  We have a Le Creuset and love the versatility - sear on the stove top then into the oven.
Richmond and Mathews County, VA. Large BGE, Weber gas, little Weber charcoal. Vintage ManGrates. Little reddish portable kamado that shall remain nameless here.  Very Extremely Stable Genius.

    Buy it.
LBGE (still waitin' for my free T-Shirt), DIgiQ DX2 (In Blue, cause it's the fastest), Heavy Duty Kick Ash Basket, Mc Farland, WI. :glasses:  B)
If it wasn't for my BGE I'd have no use for my backyard...

I see you already ordered it so this is kind of moot but I use a regular Lodge cast iron - Lodge L8DOL3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Dutch Oven with Dual Handles, 5-Quart for bread baking. It's only $35 and no need to worry about chipping a porcelain coating.

I found a 5 qt worked better for me when using a no-knead recipe than my 7qt. but a 7qt. may be better for some people  if they are baking bigger loaves.

If storage space is an issue you could just store your dutch oven in your Egg.

Thank you for the storage hint, HeavyG!  My husband says he already has stuff in there, but we'll see how it works out once it arrives.
  • You can also find them at T.J. Maxx, if they are in your area. That's where I bought mine for $39.99.
Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
