    I snagged one also. Would also have preferred the 8 qt. but not at twice the price. I can always use my big stovetop pressure cooker when I need more capacity.

    Amazon doesn't sell Thermapens themselves. The ones available via Amazon are sold by third parties at outrageous prices.

    Amazon had the Lavatools Javelin Pro on sale in a couple of colors today for just $38 (they still do for a couple more hours). I've got both Javelins and Thermapens and I prefer the Javelin Pro. At that price I went ahead and ordered another one.
