The XL IS efficient !
Everyone looks at the size of the XL and immediately cries, "I don't want that big size egg, it uses too much lump for what I'll be cooking!"
Im always amazed at how efficient it is. Over the past 2-1/2 years I've posted lots of pics showing how little ash it creates and how little lump it uses. Of course, the secret is to use the premium lump, Rockwood !
All I've done is stir the lump a little with the ash tool, rake out the ashes, and poor more Rockwood in, right out of the bag.
And, the XL is ready to rock again later this evening for 2 full packer briskests !!!
enjoy your weekend, my friends !!

@dldawes1 - I envy you and a 2 brisket cook starting this PM. Gonna be good eats at the end of that journey. Enjoy as I know you will.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

I say the same thing about the large....keep thinking about how fun & quick a MM or small would be but why get another egg to have one sitting idle...last night did a couple of pork tenderloins then made Cuban sandwiches....as always very miserly on the lump.LBGE Katy (Houston) TX
