To relieve my gout symptoms and at the onset of feelings I drink the tart cherry juice from concentrate, cranberry juice, club soda, tonic water and eat watermelon and pomegranates.
After every beer, 8 ounces of water. I also need to avoid/moderate shrimp and pork intake.

Recently had a really bad time with it myself. It felt like my foot was splitting in half. I bought a nutribullet and I drink one of these every morning. I haven't had a problem since. Tart cherries have worked wonders for me. And replacing my breakfast with this has also helped me shed a few pounds.
20 tart cherries (on canned fruit isle...packed in H2O)
1 celery stalk
1 peeled navel orange
large handful of kale or spinach
10 unsalted cashews
Crushed ice and water to the fill mark
Looks disgusting but it's not bad at all. Also gives you a nice boost of energy.

All good advice from prior posts. My best advice to you , from over 14 years of gout experience, is #1 when you go to the bathroom, if your pee isn't clear, you need to drink a lot more liquid , and rehydrate . #2 tart cherries, dried or juice. #3 pay attention to what may be triggering your gout attacks, it's different for everybody. If you start getting "funny" sensations in the area of your gout, think about what you've been eating , or whether you are taking in enough fluids. Best of luck!

I'm curious. Has anyone had a gout attack that hurt in the base of the heel like you stepped on a rock or something? I have had the big toe gout but have recently begun to have some pain in the base of the heel. It gets better when I take Indomethacin but that is just a NSAID so it probably would even if it is not gout related.

I know someone that swears by Triflora. Applied liberally at the onset. Won't cure anything, but sure dulls the pain. Awesome for tons of issues. Bites, stings. I know this person very well. He didn't believe it either.
Portsmouth, VA. LBGE. Missed all this fun till now. Update: Minimax added to arsenal. Hint, don't take off camping for a month after getting a LBGE, and leave it home, it'll cost you plenty.
