Primo vs. BGE Gasket

Options
Anyone know if I can substitue a Primo Gasket set on my large BGE.  The store was out of BGE's and suggested Primo would work.  Just want to confirm.  Left voicemail with BGE Customer Service two days ago and no response as yet.  Thanks!

You should consider putting on a Rutland gasket.  Much longer lifespan.  If you contact @RRP, Ron Pratt will hook you up for a very reasonable price.

The gasket doesn't know which brand of kamado it is on. Yeah, you can use it. Lot of options as the other answers implied, too

A large BGE uses a ⅞" gasket.  If the Primo gasket is the same width you can use it.
You can get a Nomex BGE gasket online at Smokeware (they also have gaskets for Primo and KJ)

My Rutland from  @RRP works perfect and was simple to install.

    Ron gets my vote.

Check your local hardware store. Mine has bulk spools of Rutland 5/8" flat tape gasket material for 79 cents per foot. So $5.53 for a large. Mine has been on for over 6 years now. Still works great. Lots of guys don't use any gasket.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Thanks for all the feedback.  Very helpful.  The Primo gasket measures 3/4" so based on Tony T's message advising L-BGE is 7/8" back to the store I go.
