First timer.
Came home to pick up a new lab puppy. And decided to stay and put in dads KAB we got him for Father's Day. This is my first post but not my first cook got the egg from my groomsmen as a wedding gift not that long ago been a great learning experience. Thanks for all the tips on here! Cooking a few burgers tonight.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey. Great gift and nice gesture with the KAB.
BTW- great looking pup right there-mischief written all over.
And an observation-I would air-gap the BGE in addition to the paver. Too many (greater than zero) stories of the wood under the paver becoming brittle and failing sometimes with a lit BGE at the time. You know where this story can end. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -

Thank you for the advice. We are both new at the egg (less than a year for him) so thank you

Might want to read thru the above...lots of blah blah blah.....but mentions air gaps etc. Also...lack of an air gap MAY speed up the time it takes to crack the base.... -
