yo, BluesnBBQ, regarding beer butt chicken

Contrary to the advice I received yesterday - and no offense meant - but I was just sure that bb chicken was done direct and then I got to thinking the temp is only 225 and the cooking time was three hours so it had to be direct. Man O man was it delicious! Not as moist as from brining, but very tender!and juicy!

one feral kat,[p]Whatever works best for you is the way to go! I always use a drip pan with whole birds, to avoid flareups from the grease. One of these days I want to try a chicken on a spit laid across the edges of the Egg, with no grill.[p]Cooking is part art and part science, and there are no absolute rights or wrongs (except, as I've said before, boiling ribs. That's always wrong!) :)[p]-Steve
