Anyone have these or have my experiences with them? I'm looking at three units. One @ 20' wide and two @ 14'

bow chica bow wow.  Don't forget the fireplace and drapes on a remote.

What's it for?  Outside?  Is 20" as big as they go?  Sounds cool.  We did one for someone that popped up at the foot of their bed.  Can't remember any details though.

We have a covered area in back and just don't like the idea of permanently screening it in, but if I had these retractable a I could extend our enjoyment time without bugs etc. on an as needed basis.

Not a movie screen u creep!  Ha ha.

What is the application?  I have installed tons of projector screens and window screens. 20' is big for a window screen, you may need to break it into 2 sections. The size of the roller to support the weight is the critical part. On projection screens that are 14-20' in length the roller is usually between 6 and 8" in diameter.

Pete, no personal experience here, but a neighbor had a 14' one and whether he left it down and exposed to too much UVL or wouldn't let it get dried properly before rolling up the thing rotted on him in 6 years. He since had it replaced with a cool white plastic pergola which came in a precut kit form. Granted if it's raining he gets wet!

@AVEngineer Here is the application. I am wanting to mount under the headers with track on the posts and structure. I have 110 outlets already inside @ the ceiling. The dimensions are approx. the wide span concerns me. Also I have seen that there are various screen materials recommendations?

I think you're referring to the retractable awnings? I considered those prior to this addition. Thanks for the input though.

Yes...me bad - first I don't know your name and now I don't know a screen from an awning! Guess you better take my advice with a block of salt!

Check out Somfy. They have what you are looking for. https://www.somfysystems.com/residential/outdoor/exterior-screens

When it comes to fabric they will provide samples and the thing to look for is an openness factor. That is what determines how much light will pass.

I don't know. I will check tomorrow and see if we have any pricing. My guess would be closer to 5k for all three. The fabric you choose will greatly affect the price.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I assume you feel they are a worthwhile product?

They make good products. Several companies use motors and controllers from them in their own products.
