Flameboss quick and dirty blower baffle

You do not need a baffle on the Flameboss blower for it to work correctly. Adjusting the top venting appropriately is all that is necessary ... the top vent needs a real small opening. Flameboss now sends you a text if the computer sees that the top vent is open too much for too long ... neat!
However, if you want to experiment with a baffle, here's a quick and dirty way of making a baffle to duplicate the Guru's blower baffle. I used some thin aluminum sheathing from a big box lumber yard. However, there is no reason an empty aluminum beer can can't work just as well. Cut a strip a slightly narrower than the width of the opening on the FB's mounting adapter. Bend that strip to look like this:

Attach the clip (baffle) to the blower adapter, like this:

Cut it long and experiment with trimming it down ( or bending it in or out slightly) until you get the baffling that matches your egg. Here is what it looks like installed in the adapter plate:

Ignore the felt around my adapter plate ... I was experimenting with using it to improve the bottom vent against extraneous leakage. Here's an example of a baby back rib cook that was done (except for the felt) with the FB set up just like it comes out of the sales package:

The above cook is why I suggest that the baffle is not necessary.

much appreciated!

Nice idea.
This would be helpful with my medium. I had enough leakage from the worn gasket and the lid being propped up by the wires that I could not hold 250* with the DW fully closed.
