Reminds me of 4 summers ago our neice and her 21 year old vegan daughter were visiting us from Holland. To keep peace in the family I had asked what all the young lady would eat or not eat. With that information I got on the net looking for hot vegan meals that I could fix for her with her favorite vegan foods. I found one that had a great set of reviews. So the up shot is I fixed it in a separate dish along side some great burgers I grilled for the rest of us on my large.

Well...when we sat down to eat the girl politely said she wasn't hungry after all! Pissed me OFF but I calmed down and asked why...well that vegan dish was cooked in the presence of beef!

Next time...here's some salad dressing - there's the yard - knock yourself out!

@RRP -  sometimes the deck is well-stacked against you.  But she was clearly lined up against anything mid-west as that would mean...  BTW did she offer a radius outside of which you would have been golden?  ;)
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Not really but on two subsequent visits her Mother would bring something for her daughter's lunch. It was just as well as one other time I walked into our kitchen as the young lady was carefully reading the labels on the salad dressings we had to offer. I gleefully said oh that one has hog p*ss in it and the other some tasty cow sh*t for flavor!

Thing is she is now 25 years old, 5' 9" 113 pounds and she looks like she got strained through a sheet if you get my drift! I'm no fat *ss, nor skinny person, but that gal IMHO is walking proof of what that vegan mindset does to an otherwise smart person. As Redd Foxx said  "that green crap is what my food eats!"

Amazing how some can be so intolerant with their life styles.  I love the salad dressing response.

I really meant that comment! I sincerely hope that my US college educated grand neice will eventually come to her senses or find some Dutch lad who agrees with her life style and beliefs and they can eat grass or whatever and live in Holland happily thereafter!

Family.  My MIL is visiting and staying with us.  I think it's been over three weeks now.  Anyway, somehow or another we always go out to eat a lot more often while she's here.  Have you seen the new Geico commercial?

3 weeks is a long time for house guests, unless they are visiting you while you are in a coma.

Did you ever hear of the expression giving someone the cold shoulder?  This comes from guests staying too long, and to make the point, the host would give them the cold shoulder, as opposed to a prime cut.  So I hear.

I agree if it were a normal guest or relative.  But it's Wilma's mom.   So if I want peace in the house and gain regular carnal knowledge, I pick up the tab and hope my plastic smile doesn't look too fake.  Oh, and pray she leaves soon.
