Got a barn find (actually basement find) collection of CI cookers. The Dutch Oven was just grungy but the skillets looked like they had been painted and used as decor. I could not find anyone to sandblast them so they finally went on the XL. Kept at over 1,000 for well over an hour. Cleaned up pretty well, still showing some red oxidation but no hint of paint or grunge. I figure doing a few cooks on them will fix the red. The DO has no markings at all, the larger skillet just says Made in USA, but the small skillet says Wagner Ware 2 and seems like it might be a bit collectable.
The rocks will be explained another time.

Why not make an electrolysis tank to help clean them? Plastic trash can, battery charger and a piece of scrap steel. Ph+, tablespoon per gallon of water. Ground clamp to the cast iron, positive to the scrap. Make sure the 2 don't touch. Copper wire can be used to keep the battery charger clamps from the water...

A friend suggested scrubbing them with coarse salt. It really worked and cleaned them up a lot more.
