Spring Hen's cousin in Washington DC emailed me saying, "I still remember my first exposure to the Green Egg at your place years ago!" 

He also sent this Wall Street Journal article about Melissa Cookston, the most decorated woman in competitive Barbecue.

All my Mississippi coworkers, who work in Germantown (Memphis) with me, love her restaurant "Memphis BBQ Company". I'd be happy to try it but it's like an hour south from Midtown Memphis where I live. We have great bbq all around us (mainly in my backyard) so i've never made the trip.

Since moving here almost 4 yrs ago Memphis BBQ is definitely my favorite.   I like Central and Commissary as well, but I'd make the drive for Memphis BBQ over either of those I think.   You should be able to get there from mid town in 30 min easily most of the time?   Only thing it is missing in my opinion is the atmosphere that Central and Commissary offer.   Memphis BBQ feels like just any other random restaurant inside.

I want her cornbread recipe.   Every time I think I've either made or tasted some that's almost as good, I am reminded how wrong I am whenever I have theirs again.
