Just cook everything you would have cooked in the kitchen oven on the egg. You wont believe how much better it will taste.  Practice makes perfect. Post your cooks

Welcome - start cooking and enjoy!  It's a hobby of whatever you make it- big or small.

As for advice - NEVER,  E V E R,   N E V E R,    N-E-V-E-R   use anything petroleum based to start your fire, unless you like eating petroleum for the rest of your days...

And burp the dome.  A lot.  Like every time.

You will get great advice here and don't think any question is stupid.

Well you could always start out wit burgers. I like to put a little garlic powder and worchestshire in the raw meat but somebody else is sur to say that is sacrilege. Spatchcock chicken is a bit more advanced but not that much. Then there are porkchops.

Hey folks, the poster asked this question a YEAR ago.  Think they have progressed a bit since then.

In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’  Dare to think for yourself.

Read, read, read and watch YouTube videos.

@GATraveller is onto something with youtube.  dave i think thats the guys name made a video on the first time he used his big green egg.  He made ny strips and the way he presented it was great.  take a look, the guy has a sierra nevada beer, and he makes the steaks on his new large and that video taught me how to grill steaks for first time on bge...
