Donald Trump?
JK - welcome to the forum. I use welding gloves, and heave duty rubber gloves for handling the cooked protein.

@FreezerHead There is no best glove. Like most things BBQ, there is no best. Many good things and ways, each with their strong points and weak points. Tradeoffs need to be made.
Welding gloves are ok for handling moderately hot items for short times and are cheap. The SR barbecue gloves and others like it are good for handling wet hot chunks of meat for short times, but do not have a lot of insulation for handling hot ceramics. There are several knit gloves that are well insulated for handling hot items, but provide no protection for wet items. My favorite are gloves designed for firefighting. They have good insulation and provide protection from wet. Biggest downside is the cost.Southeast Florida - LBGE
In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself. -
I agree with @blasting I use Welders gloves for the hot items and the insulated food gloves the most. I also use cheep garden gloves when starting the cook and moving around the grates, woos and platesetter...
