I've got an Owl Box in my front yard in Plano TX.  This season a screech owl family moved in.  It was tres cool to see them.  Here's a pic of momma when she was out of her box, and the 2 owlets looking down at me.  My box was purchased off of amazon because I'm not handy :)

@northGAcock, that is extremely cool. About how high up in the tree was it installed? I hear owls in the woods behind my house all the time and wouldn't mind a few more to help with my rabbit problem in the garden; especially since it looks like I can't get a mountain lion. I was in Minnesota in the Northern tier with some Scouts for a week. We were canoeing, fishing, camping. I was up one morning early fishing and was buzzed by a female bald eagle. It was really an awesome experience; especially being in such a remote place, basically cohabitating in their environment.
@NC_Egghead   Circling back....he said about 20 feet. For some reason I thought it was much higher. Anyhow, the Owl cub (not sure what they are really called) has flown the nest so to speak. Really just made it to the ground and staying in the area. The mother is continuously watching and keeping a close eye on the little one.
