    What are these thing used for?  Sorry I'm a noob.
    For heat outdoors on a patio, though some people remove the tall chimney and place a small grate on top and use them to cook burgers or roast marshmallows. They are just cool!

    They are outdoor fireplaces. Chimineas are very popular and adorn almost every patio in Arizona.

    They work ok, but the little tv screen window narrows the view of the fire considerably. Ours is up on a wall at eye level, which makes it easier to see

    the top chimney comes off, and should have a porcelain grate. Food for hotdogs or marshmallows

    The grate was an option . I'm looking for a 9.5". It is the same as the original Mini BGE grill grate. Anyone have one for sale?

    Why not make your own? By the time you find someone to sell you theirs, much less pay them plus the postage you could cut several of them for yourself! Honest!!!

    UPS brought me a package last week.
    The wife said "What did you order from BGE this time?"
    My reply "Nothing, why?"
    The wife said "Well it's here!"

    The new BGE Chiminea was a floor model so the spark arrestor screen for the cone was missing. I called the guys at BGE and they looked high and low for one. The last I heard was "We are truly sorry but we seem to be out of them. And because it is not a production item we wont be able to get any."
    Well I was disappointed but not a big deal. It was a long shot anyway. They have been out of production for 3-4 years now. I was going to make one from screen material. But, Popped open the package and WOW!

    What a great group of guys in warranty and customer support!

    Bruce, you guys always seem to hit a home run. Well done my friends.
    This is why I have no problem telling my friends to spend their hard earned money with BGE.
    Thanks. =)

  • Thanks @Hotch for showing the upper screen.  It doesn't look too difficult to fabricate.

    @Fred19Flintstone It is the same material as the front screen on the Chiminea.

    @Hotch thanks for the update and photos. The "Little Chiminea That Could"  is a perfect addition to your back yard and will undoubtedly be used more frequently that it would have in northern Illinois.
