Remember GREENHEAT Charcoal Lighter Gel?
RRP
Posts: 26,127
I just found this bottle of GREENHEAT starter gel that was popular years ago. I used to use it all the time and loved it. It was a product of South Africa by a company founded in 1996. It is 100% organic, non flaring, non toxic, non explosive and non petroleum. It was so easy to use. For some reason they quit making it in bottle form many years ago and now produce individual gel packets for camping and fiber fire starter blocks. I just liked the bottles as I could squirt some where I wanted on the lump. Guess Antique Road Show won't be coming here soon so I'm going to use this up rather than keep it hidden anyway any longer!

That's fine. @Richard Fl reminded me the reason it was discontinued was people were getting burnt because it burnt so cleanly it was practically invisible in the sunlight. I just couldn't remember why it was taken off the market. Oh well, I've got 35 or 40 fires ahead of me to finish it off.

Isnt it isopropyl alcohol with a gel agent? Not 'bad chemicals'(!) at all. Fine to use

This is not the same brand, but it's the same stuff. And it's made by Rutland to boot. You can get it at Tractor Supply for less than 5 bucks a bottle in the spring and summer. It's a tad higher during cold weather.
For the record, if I had your money, the price would not even figure into itLocation- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

There's a bit of alcohol in hand sanitizer, right? I wonder how that burns.

@RRP
Ron, you seem to have a flair for the nostalgic. With that said, do you remember Old Diz charcoal? The Old Diz made by Dizzy Dean, not the Old Diz now made my Royal Oak. I still have a few bags from the 70's that I found in the barn. It was packaged in Stone County, MS. Thinking about grilling some SRF ribeyes with it. Just for sentimental reasons.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.
