Brisket cook times

I have done 2 "full" briskets, and they came out great, I bought a cow and it came with a brisket that is much smaller. it is my understanding that this is a partial (or different cut).  how would the cook time be affected by this?  The cow was cut by a pro butcher and was cut fairly standard (since i have no ideas what to ask for).

thanks for the vocab education :)

    IMHO...

    You CANNOT time BBQ...

    Its done when its done...

Really the only way to determine how long a cut of meat will take to complete is to do it once to get a baseline.

and briskets a finicky bird...I've had them get done anywhere from 180 to 210.

Sorry I couldn't be more help with your question...

quite possibly the brisket you purchased was just the flat, and they left the deckle off (or point otherwise known as burnt ends )

Take a pic.  Sounds like just the flat.
