Roswell Beer Festival

I'm headed to Atlanta this weekend for the Roswell Beer Festival. Would like to swing by an egg dealer and pick up some local rubs. Could anyone make a recommendation on a good BBQ place to visit near Roswell.... and a good local rub.

Check out Roswell hardware. Not a lot of great local rubs that I know of they carry porku it's ok but they are the #1 egg seller in the world. They carry the ceramic grill store stuff and have all the thermoworx stuff in stock. Also have all the yeti toys and powder coated yetis and so much stuff to waste money on. They have way more toys to buy than the mothership.

You can drop some serious money at Roswell HW.  I think they have his stuff there, but Lane's BBQ out of Bethlehem, GA has some good rubs.  Bethlehem is out near Athens, GA so its not really close to try to go there.

Depending on when the festival starts, go get a burger at The Vortex in Little 5.  Good burgers with tater tots, local beers, and irreverent wait staff.

And if my buddies are there, get a beer from Jailhouse Brewing.  They are local to me on the southside of Atlanta.  "The Warden" bought the little town's old jail and converted it into a brewery.  All the beers are jail/prison themed.

Driving or Flying in?  If flying, look for my smoke rolling on your approach.  I can see landing lights at night, but I love flying, so it doesn't bother me!

Roswell HW is like an egg candy store!  About 20 minutes away, in Marietta is a place called Sam's BBQ1 on lower Roswell road.  They have great Q and sides!  I picked up three bottles of their brisket rub to give away at NCBB.  It rocks!  @DoubleEgger turned me onto it.  BBQ1 has won best BBQ in Atl multiple times.  Greenwoods in Roswell is great home cooking with pies to die for.  I'll be out of the State or I'd meet ya for a beer.  Have fun!

The Mac and Cheese at Sams is the best I've ever had. Worth the short drive to get their rubs and grub.

Lots of great little eateries on Roswell Square.  Hard to go wrong, choose based on your taste.  Another gem, albeit pricey is Little Alley Steaks.  Great dry and wet aged fare, prepared expertly for a premium price.  Over a weekend I'd avoid it.  Best during the week.

@bgebrent Thank you sir for the great recommendations. I'll check out the Q at BBQ1. I'm not there long but I'll figure out a way to squeeze in an extra meal.
