Gasket time... 3m paint stripper?

There are a few ways that work.  Instead of using a drill, I took a flat razor blade and scraped off the big pieces, then went back and scrubbed it with the pumice stone below:

Worked very well, and took a lot less time than I thought it would.  This was the stone that RRP recommended to use when I got my seal from him.

I fully agree - but since this may be a single time use tool, I have found there are far cheaper "lesser name" brands on the market. I've even found some at Harbor Freight really dirt cheap and have shipped them to England!
