Mustard substitution

I'm doing a pork shoulder tomorrow but want to prep it tonight. Problem is I don't have any yellow mustard for the base. Is there a substitute that I could use?

It is not necessary.  There is plenty of moisture on the butt for the rub to stick.

I've used nothing, worsheshire sauce, apple cider vinegar,  and apple juice. Cannot tell a difference with any of them.

I stopped the mustard a while ago. Never noticed a difference. One less step, a lot less mess.

For binder there's many substitutes or just naked.

I've used mayo many times and it works great!

Yes, mayo.  I use Dukes but any will do.  Result is great bark.

I've been using molasses lately. It makes for great bark.
