What do you look for in a big green egg retail display?
I work for a business that is a bge retailer, and we just built a new display table for all of the big green egg gear.
For those of you who buy bge supplies from a retail store, what do you look for in a display, and what are some of the main things you look for, or what are some of the things you whah they carried?

That looks really cool.. I normally go into our local BGE retail shop to browse when I have some time to kill. But all of my supplies I buy on line.. Once again nice display..Greensboro North Carolina

I would look for rockwood lump from my local dealer. I know Pete has it but he is my 2 nod local dealer as he is about 30 miles away. I like the display other then the chemicals in the background is kind of a turn off to me. I would also stock "bear claws" and a digi-q. Also a variety of all size eggs. When we want a new egg we want it NOW not in 2 weeks when the truck is coming. The turkey and chicken holders are a waste of space.1 XXL BGE, 1 LG BGE, 2 MED. Charcoal, rubs, and bbq sauce. Anything BGE gets a quick glance. (Not many BGE accessories excite me to be honest) I like the Blues Hog sauce you have available. Big props for that. You could look into the Kick Ash Basket. I bought my small Kick Ash Basket from my dealer"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. The bge order goes in soon, so there will be all sizes of eggs avaliable soon, as well as their accessories. I think we only have three xls, two large, two mediums and the mini at the mmoment. There is usually one of each size egg assembled on display, and the rest stay in the boxes until someone wants to take one home. We also try to have one of our custom made egg tables on hand too.

(IMO) First very nice display.
To me the most important is an Egg cooking in the door way at all big hours for the store and meal times as well.
Just knock a few items out and watch the Eggs sell.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). -
I like your display island, but not necessarily what is displayed on it. All the BGE gimmicky stuff doesn't interest me. I'd look at selling all the must have accessories.
Welding gloves, meat gloves, a nice rub display, Thermapen, Rockwood, Oxo Tongs, injector, HD aluminum foil, Lodge cast iron, lump storage bins, The Briner, etc
How about some store branded yeti / rtic tumblers?

Myself I like to take my time and browse, til something hits me. There's a BBQ's Galore near me. They stock everything BGE. I almost always dread going inside, as the salesman shadows me everywhere - he must be on commission.

I think it would be great to have some of the 3rd party components such as items from the ceramic grill store, kick ash basket, smokeware, etc.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I like to see a big 20% off sign !One large BGE in Louisville, KY.

I think we do 20% off on everything with the purchase of an egg

@tybenj I really think we may be the wrong focus group for your question. To people who already own BGE, we're going to be more focused on acessories, rubs, sauces, etc. and to echo the above sentiments, the BGE branded stuff is often a lesser value than 3rd party accessories.
if you're looking to target new converts, I'd definitely prioritize having your different size eggs on display. Make sure at least one of them is set up in that table you have pictured. New buyers are more likely to buy gimmicky accessories because they're excited.XL & MM BGE, 36" Blackstone - Newport News, VA -
FWIW, according to my dealer, when they put an XXL on the floor, sales of XLs went up. They still haven't sold an XXL, but the increase in XL sales was worth it according to them.They/Them

Yikes, you would have to sell quite of few xls to make up the 4k for an xxl just to sit there haha

Great display but just from my perspective as a shopper I would put things like lump on the bottom shelf and maybe bigger ticket items (ie plate setters, Dutch oven ...) anything that has caught my eye has been pretty much in my line of sight or eye level. Unless I am looking for something very specific I will go out of my way and bend down to look for it.
So if it was my store those chemicals in the back would go as it's not appealing to put chemicals next to food items. It's a subconscious thing that might put people off. I would put some of the BGE accessories on the shelves in the back. That's my $0.02 which is Canadian money so technically I probably owe ya moneyXLBGE, MMBGE, CyberQ -
Very nice looking display!
Smokeware, kick ash baskets, temp controllers, woks, wok rings, and lots if grate sizes excite me. However, I am deep into BGE culture already. So I may not be your typical customer.
I also like knives, tongs, and spatulas.Maybe your purpose in life is only to serve as an example for others? - LPL

I really appriciate the coments everyone. Do you think first time buyers would be interested in all the fancy accessories? For the most part i see people buy the basics and then find their own goodies online vs going all out right away

Is that first table teak? Sure is beautiful!
The store setup looks good also. As others have mentioned, carrying charcoal might be a good addition as well as maybe some cast iron pieces. One item that I personally have always found cool were the BGE branded drinkware. An Ace close by sells Tervis cups for $65 for a pack of two and they just sit on they shelves. However, there's a sporting goods store that sells glass BGE cups (pint glasses, lowball glasses, etc.) for more reasonable prices and it seems like they never have more than 1 or 2 on the shelves.
It may just be the angle of the pic but the MM at the top seems hidden and almost blends in with the plant behind it.22 in Macon, GA - Large BGE 2015 -

This keeps me going back. He will also swap out some stuff at time of purchase with no increase in package price. That is real nice.Maybe your purpose in life is only to serve as an example for others? - LPL

Its mostly just set up this way until the spring order comes in. We did carry the tervis brand before, but ace carrying it kinda ruined it. Do you know if the glassware you mentioned was a bge branded set, or made by someone else? We also carry lump, but it is not kept in the retail as it would take up too much space
