2nd grate level

I need a 2nd grate level, especially since some holidays are coming up.  I need to be able to do sides on the upper grate with meat on the lower grate.  A large adjustable rig is our of my price range right now.  Whats the best ghetto rigged thing I can make, or purchase?   If you have pictures of yours that would help too.

Thanks

Smokeware makes a bracket that attaches a second grate and allows you to swing it away when needed. Check out their website. Simple, cheap and very effective.

Need size of your egg.  Fire bricks elevating the second grate works easily.  Carriage bolts work as well as others will post.

Get three fire bricks and a standard Weber grill grate with diameter 12-14 inches (can't remember).  Put the BGE grate on the fire ring and use the fire bricks, or Coke cans to support your second level.  This reliably gives you 2 levels.  Good luck brother!  And the obligatory Go Cats.

I picked up a grate from Walmart and a piece of stainless threaded rod from hardware store and a handful of nuts and washers about $22 total. Fully adjustable for a cheap price
