Looks like RTIC may have some competition in the market. $149 for the 20 with a bottle opener and hat. Built in cup holders and a pressure release valve. http://vibekayaks.com/products/vibe-element-20l-cooler

I think there are around 18-20 of these "Cooler Companies" now.

    Probably more on the way.

Really?  Put your name on it or anybody else's and it's still a debunked Yeti. I personally own 0 Yeti Coolers. I have a Pelican and prefer the latches etc. I do own some Yeti cups etc and like them a lot.

Yeah, it is going to be like SUPs I think (Stand Up Paddleboards).  When they first came out they were $2000, but now every watersports company makes them and you can get a great board for $800 or less.

There is nothing magic about these.  Just more insulation, for the times you don't have easy access to more ice!  In most cases, that $40 cooler you picked up at WalMart is all you need.

    Let the prices fall!  :plus_one:

Why does every company claim their cooler is "bear resistant". How many bears have attacked your beer cooler... Other than @caliking

Except for the name badge on the front, those coolers look EXACTLY like the Kuer Coolers. Same price too.

And it seems both companies are waiting for the slow boat from China to arrive.

I got the Coleman Marine Extreme 6 day 58 qt directly from Coleman 3-4 years ago for $39.99 including free shipping. 2 1/2 inches of insulation. I go through about 8 pounds of ice per day during the summer. As for quality it's not in the same league as the higher priced coolers.

The cooler is large enough so that I can stick a prechilled, cheap, smaller cooler inside. In that little cooler I store all meats, vegatables, eggs, etc... No digging around the ice and no cross contamination. The little cooler will keep meat frozen for over 24 hours.

Really. Still a nice looking cooler with some nice features.
Like you, I also like the latches used on the Pelican coolers. My only complaint with my Pelican coolers is amount of space they take up for the internal space because of the design. For use in a large boat or the back of a truck...no problem. The sharper corners and edges and latches on the Pelican is also why all of my commercial and Sport fishing friends don't like them on their boats. All the new designs will bring out better coolers at a better price. I'm happy to see more coming out.
    Thank you,

...exactly what I'd like to accomplish with a RTIC 30 (soft side) inside a Pelican among others

Loved our Pelican, latches much better than on our Yeti....Pelican just too heavy when filled. Gave it to #1son.
I have had my Pelican tool case for almost 24 years and I plan to take it with me when i retire next year...Only rolled over it once

Agreed. The latches on the Pelican looked much more user friendly to me than the others. I'm also hoping that this new (smaller) access door on the Tailgater more easily solves the strongarm/struggle vacuum issue that others have spoken to which this 'Vibe' apparently solves with a dial or button.
Either that or the small door will break more easily with the needed force applied.
